The drawings emerge as an aggregate of marks, responding to actions, where a structure pierces through a layer of matter, and another form appears. The drawings are a hybrid of materials and print, an assemblage that connects landscape with time. The linear and spatial, the physical and illusory seek to create spaces to hold our attention.

The digital laser-casting device transforms matter using an invented portable sculptural apparatus. The captured material sits between a sculptural process of casting the surface of the earth, in a shallow-relief form, the device itself acting as a type of camera obscura. The matrix of matter_casts reflects a stratification of history, picturing the future of the world as artefact. In Jan Zalasiewicz's 'The Earth After Us', a vision of the earth is geologically examined as an archaeological find. The matter_casts are a solidified memory, viewing a slice of the earth along a trodden path.
